NAPL Owners Conference: Social Media, QR Codes, Print, & More
From September 8-10, 2011, interlinkONE and Grow Socially will have the privilege of attending, speaking, and exhibiting at NAPL’s Owners Conference.
This year’s show is being held at the Doubletree Hotel in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. With all of the temptation around you in that beautiful city, you might be wondering — why should I head inside for the conference? Here are a few of my thoughts
3 Reasons To Attend the NAPL Owners Conference
- To hear presentations from a few printers that are absolutely getting things done: A lot of my favorite people in the print industry will be at the Owners Conference this year. I’m excited that many of them will be speaking at this event as well. For example, Scott Cappel of Sorrento Mesa will deliver the presentation “LinkedIn for Power Users“. Also, Paul Strack of CustomXM will cover the topic “Tweet Me Right: Business Success with Twitter“. I guarantee that they (and other speakers there!) will share helpful tips and action items that will benefit your business.
- To learn how you can make money from QR Codes: QR Codes are hotter than ever here in the U.S. But can they truly help you to grow your print business? Can they help your clients improve the effectiveness of their printed materials? During this presentation on Friday morning, I will provide answers to questions like these and others! I hope to see you there.
- To see what’s new in the world of social networking and how it can grow your business: On Friday night, we will participating in the Supplier’s Showcase. This is always a highlight of the NAPL Owners Conference for me. I love the atmosphere and I love the opportunities for back-and-forth dialogue. This year will be no different! If you swing by the interlinkONE and Grow Socially table, we’d love to answer any questions that you may have on social networking, SEO, and more.
Moving Forward
Yes, Graph Expo comes right after the NAPL Owners Conference… So, this is an understatement: the next 10 days or so are going to be very busy! I’m sure you feel the same way.
But either way, I hope that you find the time you spend at the NAPL Owners Conference, Graph Expo, or any of the other co-located events well worth your time.
Connect with Me in Chicago
In just a few weeks, I’ll be headed to Chicago for a few great trade shows and conferences. From September 8th-14th, I’ll be attending, speaking, and exhibiting at the NAPL Owners Conference, the Print & Media Conference, and Graph Expo.
If you’ll be at any of those events, I’d love to meet up with you! Just let me know.
One of the ways that I’ll be trying to develop enduring relationships in Chicago with prospects, customers, and other folks is with my business card.
Here are pictures from the Grow Socially business card that I’ll be distributing:

Yes, my business card contains one of my favorite things — QR Codes!
Upon scanning the QR Code on the back of the card, people are directed to a mobile website that serves as my online profile. There, they can access a variety of ways to contact me — the mobile site lists my email address, phone numbers, mailing address, social networking links, and more.
Yes, the mobile site makes it easy for people to contact me in the format that they prefer!
This approach has absolutely helped me and my sales reps make more connections with the emerging mobile audience.
Here’s hoping that trend continues in Chicago in September!
