One interlinkONE product that you may not know about is ilnk.me. Yes, it is a URL-shortening tool. But it does a lot more than that. Many people use it to measure success of various posts. For example, they may use ilnk.me’s reporting capabilities to see things such as:

  • At what time of day do the majority of people click on links in my posts?
  • Which topics are trending or growing in popularity?
  • Which social media channels are driving traffic to my links?
  • Will one headline vs. another cause a greater amount of people to click on a link?

If you’d like to use ilnk.me, it’s free. Simply create an account and you’ll have access to all of the reporting functions. (FYI, we are also planning on a few enhancements soon.)

Before we move ahead to 2011, we thought it would be interesting to see what the most popular links were from the ilnk.me too. We excluded all links that were generated by our own employees to promote interlinkONE, QReate & Track, and Grow Socially.

It was fairly fascinating (to us) to see the wide variety of topics that the popular links were associated to. This includes education, marketing, politics, and more.  Not all of the articles were created this year, which may be an indication as to the long-term value of a certain idea.

For your enjoyment, here are the 15 most popular ilnk.me links from 2010:

  1. Obama’s Baltimore Q&A with House Republicans: the transcript
  2. What makes for a Facebook friend, anyway?
  3. A School That Achieves Greatness
  4. The University of Advanced Technology
  5. The Printernet meme may mean the end of the “End of Print” meme
  6. Keen On… with Hagel and Seely Brown: Building a New Normal (TCTV)
  7. NAPL’s LinkedIn Group
  8. International Program Catches On in U.S. Schools
  9. Are You Fitting Employee Personality Into Your Leadership Puzzle?
  10. ‘Printernet’ Vision Brings Custom Print Publications to Masses
  11. EbDish
  12. There’s no Money in Content Creation
  13. LIFT Conference Video
  14. Brave New Voices 2010 – “Love Letter To Albuquerque Public Schools”
  15. The Shape of (Academic) Things to Come

Measure Social Media Efforts: ilink.me Enhancements

AuthorPosted by Dateon Thursday, October 29, 2009 Timeat 7:20 AM Categoriesin News, Technology

Yesterday, we released a few enhancements to our http://ilink.me application.

The biggest change was designed to make it easier for you to see how many people have clicked on the URLs that you have created.

When you are logged into the system, ilink.me displays the previous links that you have created on the left side of the application. We have added the “total number of hits” next to each of the URLs.

We’ve received some positive feedback on this enhancement already. We hope that you enjoy it as well.

Here is a screenshot of the enhancement:
