eMarketer.com recently published a chart that may help to influence mobile’s position on your priority list. The chart is based on survey responses regarding the activities that people would take if the corresponding website was optimized for their mobile phone. Here is the chart:
I think that this chart helps make it clear that people are absolutely willing to use their smartphone to perform many of the activities that they previously relied on their desktop computer for.
At the end of the article where this chart is found, there is a powerful line: “As constant mobile web use spreads further throughout the population, expectations for a PC-like experience via mobile may increase.”
So… when the growing number of smartphone users interact with your company’s websites, will their experience be a pleasant one?
