Survival is Not Mandatory

AuthorPosted by Dateon Wednesday, April 28, 2010 Timeat 11:14 AM Categoriesin Business, Technology

American statistician, professor, author, lecturer, and consultant W. Edwards Deming once said, “It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory.” In other words, if you are not willing to change you will not survive. This is especially true in the business world. Reality is that culture is continuously changing. Simultaneously, information technology and how we communicate is changing. Take for instance the recent popularity of social media. In order for businesses to remain competitive they are going to have to adapt to this new forms of communication. They will have to change in order to remain a lucrative business.

In a world of change you must have a willingness to make change. According to Harold Wilson, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, “He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.” People fear and reject change because they fear the unknown and being vulnerable. Take, for example, the internet. When the internet initially went mainstream it was rejected as a fad. We all know how that played out. Like the internet, social media is not going anywhere. It will persist and eventually be outplayed by a new form of communication. The world of communication will continue to change and we will have to adapt in order to keep our businesses viable. Will you keep up? Your business depends upon it!

John Foley, Jr. to speak on Social Media at Bryant University

AuthorPosted by Dateon Tuesday, April 27, 2010 Timeat 4:31 PM Categoriesin News

interlinkONE’s CEO, John Foley, Jr., is headed back to school!

On Wednesday, April 28th 2010, John Foley, Jr. will be speaking to students at Bryant University on the subject of social media. John will be speaking to two different classes on the topic of “Using Social Media to Build Business”.

John has delivered a similar presentation to print, mail, fulfillment, and marketing services providers over the past couple of years. However, he will have a bit of a different spin as he delivers the presentation tomorrow.

“The communication channels that we have available to us continue to change,” said John. “Businesses must be willing to recognize that students and those just out of school can have a dramatic impact on the success of their marketing efforts. They are using social media tools every day on a personal level. With just a bit of guidance (and content), they can use their knowledge and experience to help companies integrate social media into their marketing campaigns.”

We hope to post pictures and videos from the presentation later this week… Stay tuned.

Talking about Integrated Marketing: Cedar Graphics on WhatTheyThink

AuthorPosted by Dateon Tuesday, April 27, 2010 Timeat 7:55 AM Categoriesin Business, Marketing

(Update: Michelle Jollymore pointed out to me that you must log-in to WhatTheyThink before you can watch this video. If you do not have a membership with them currently, I apologize! I would greatly encourage signing up though, if you can.)

Isn’t it nice when two of your favorite things come together?

  • Hassan Igram is the President & CEO of  Cedar Graphics.  (We are very happy to disclose/note that Cedar Graphics has been an interlinkONE customer for a number of years.)
  • WhatTheyThink is one of our favorite websites – in fact, it’s a must-read-on-a-daily-basis.

Today, there is new video on WhatTheyThink featuring Hassan Igram. He takes a few moments to speak on the subject of how to use integrated marketing for your own business. Hassan describes campaigns that Cedar Graphics has done, as well as how they have had success delivering and measuring integrated marketing campaigns for their clients.

Click here to enjoy the video.

Keep the OnDemand 2010 Momentum Rolling – Free Resources

AuthorPosted by Dateon Friday, April 23, 2010 Timeat 1:24 PM Categoriesin Business, Marketing

Well, the interlinkONE crew is back from the OnDemand Expo and Conference in Philadelphia.

To put it mildly, it was one of the best shows that we have exhibited at.  The booth was packed with visitors throughout the 3-day show. We even had to print (and do an overnight shipment) to keep up with the demand for our printed collateral.

We look forward to getting in touch with everyone that requested a demo or just more information about our marketing software.

One of the highlights of the show was when Julie Sullivan from Wilde delivered a wonderful presentation on “Successfully Delivering Multi-Channel Marketing Solutions”. Our CEO, John Foley, Jr. was her co-presenter.

In case you missed it — or if you just want to see it again — we are happy to say that the slides are now available.

Head on over to our special “OnDemand Resources” site to download the presentation, along with a number of other free resources.

Enjoy!
